Single conductor or TC-ER for underground pulls

From a construction standpoint is it easier to pull
4-1/C #12 AWG conductors or 4/C TC-ER in a 1” PVC underground conduit — this is for street lighting

I'd say it's going to be more dependent on the length of the pull and the total amount of angles in the conduit run. If I was guessing, individual conductors will pull easier as they can contort to obstructions better......but anything will pull with enough lube. :cool:
 
I'm not sure any slight gain in speed from using the cable will offset the big cost difference between cable and individual conductors.
 
My guess is that it will be harder to pull the TC-ER, and more expensive to boot. One caveat: I'm pretty sure the TC-ER will be stranded conductors, but the 12 AWG could be solid. Stranded will be easier to pull.

I believe you can order conductors 'plexed' from the manufacturer, to have the convenience of a single 'thing' on a single roll, but still be separate conductors.
