1/2 emt to 3/8 fmc adapter

Recently I was doing some reading on reduced raceway sizing. I was told by an inspector that 1/2 emt to 3/8 fmc adapters were not code compliant due to the fact that they reduce raceway size. Also I recently checked my regal catalog and found that they are not UL listed. Does any one know exactly if these are code compliant and should they even be used on new installs?

This fitting is for wiring on and in machines and assembly line equipment and conveyors other similar engineered equipment. For building wiring don't use them.
