I am sizing a #1 aluminum 3 conductor w/ground SER cable per the 310.16 ampacity table and coming up with a rating of 100A in the 70 degree column. Then I remmembered the ampacity table for flexible cords and cables in 400.5(a) which has a listing for a SE cable and lists a #2, 2 conductor cable good for 95amps, although Im guessing this is a completely different cable and its probably also copper. Is SER sized per 400.5(a)? Im not installing it for flexibility but it is technically a cable and article 338 didnt specify which table to use, but im pretty sure its 310.16, I just want to make sure before i have 100ft cut. Is there anybody out there?
