Hey guys, I'm installing a generac transfer switch, normally I enter the switch/panel below the live parts. On this job I've got to enter above the live parts so I'll be using sealing locknuts. It's seems like the last time I had to do this the inspector told me to use 2 sealing locknuts, one on the inside and one on the outside, but as I remember it was impossible to get a bushing on the connector. What is the norm? Normally I just put one on the inside. TIA

If you can get a gasket type fitting (like a NM-PVC fitting) I would use that as well as a sealing lock nut. Unless the PVC-TA leaks that would be a good seal IMHO.

The only approved way to seal a PVC male adapter into an enclosure is to use the sealing ring sold by the adapter on the outside, and a locknut on the inside

Sealing lucknuts are for RGS only. Use RGS with sealing locknuts or a myers hub with a PVC TA (tecnically still not code compliant, but doubtful anyone will care, to be foolproof, use a RGS nipple into the myers hub then a PVC FA)....or as Don said the O-ring, but I can never find anyone who stocks them. I Guess you ould just get an appropriately size Oring and if asked say its the proper one :ROFLMAO:

Might as well be using a RT EMT connector with the rubber ring. POS.

Use the silcone with the sealing locknut or silicone alone. The O ring will be gone by next winter.

Better yet figure out a different way to enter it.

Why would it be gone? When installed correctly it is not exposed to the sun.
If that is a concern use the type of sealing ring with an outer metal ring.
