10' / 25' Feeder Tap Rule NEC240.21(B)

what is the difference between a 10' tap and a 25' tap? Can a 25' tap at the line side of main breaker be fully rated to the buss and or Main?

i.e. Solar line side tap, per NEC 690.64 on a 600Amp with a 600Amp Solar feed, is 25' tap rull ok?

The requirements for minimum wire size of the tap when you get to the various distances. It has been said here before that if you are not changing wire size it is not a tap, just a splice. I could not tell from the end of your post if you were changing wire size or not.
