Hang onto your old test tool forever.

Got me there. My VTVM is pretty old, but with all the accessory leads it's good from digital equipment voltages up to AC voltages higher than I would ever go near.​

The bad news is that the VTVM is practically new compared to my favorite VOM, which was already old when I got it in the sixties. Like many engineers, I've got a lot of test equiment I've acquired over the years. Properly maintained and, where appropriate, calibrated, most of it is as good as new.​

Of course, there's always room on the bench for a new toy.​
