Is it true that you need an OCPD within 10 feet of a transformer's secondary wiring connections?

The secondary conductors in most cases will require protection per the rules in 240.21(C). One of the sub-sections specifies a 10' maximum length of secondary conductor before the OPCD. Other parts of the rule have other lengths. Note, both the rules in Article 450 for transformer overcurrent protection and those in 240 for conductor protection must be complied with.
