I have a project with the following design that
I feel is incorrect.
2-sets of 250Kcmil copper fed from a 600 adjustable trip breaker to a 15th floor gutter.
1-100 amp tap w/ fused switch for an RTU
1-400 amp tap to an existing 400a MLO panel loaded w/1p 20a breakers.
The designer states that the length of buss in the 400a panel is included in the 10'tap rule
and an overcurrent device is not needed for the
400a panel.
I disagree. I feel the 400a panel should have a 400 amp MCB.
Please advise the proper code interpretation
