Probably the copper. If the conduit is large enough for the larger conductor, the smaller conductor will obviously have more room. Now, if you were going to size the conduit for the wire, I'd have a different answer.

Seriously (hey, it could happen!), my experience with larger sizes of aluminum conductors is that they are terribly springy. I once took an hour to install a hood on a weatherhead because the wire was so hard to bend.

It didn't help that the pipe came through a wall, not up the wall, and the typical 135 deg. hood meant the wire had to be bent into the wall. Does anyone make a less-than-90-deg. weatherhead for such installations?
