Hello,

What would be the required distance between two 1000kVA oil filled, 1185L tank, 12kV/480V transformers? That would be between 2 private owned TXs and another scenerio where one is utility owned and the other is private owned.

There isn't really any rule. It depends on the transformer type as well. The utility might require a specific distance radially so that they can use a crane to lift it out or to ensure enough clearance to do inspections.

Air flow and oil containment are typically the reigning factors in separation. And access to the terminations and 110.34.

Some insurance agencies will require a fire rating or blast wall. So maybe consider that as well.

You need to look at Fire Safety and insurance standards, like Factory Mutual, more than the electrical code. They are concerned with spill containment and other details, like walls, that could prevent a catastrophic failure/fire in one transformer from propagating to the other transformer.

At 2mVA of customer owned I'd be exploring 600/347y. at 600V you'd save a few amps and probably use similar gear.
Heck there is now 1000/577 but I have yet to see that in solar.
