You can feed 2000 amp equipment with a 100 amp supply if you wish as long as you only have 100 amps or less of load, and 100 amp overcurrent protection on 100 amp conductors.
Not necessarily. Presuming that the disconnect has 100 amp fuses (you didn't mention overcurrent protection), then the only requirement is that the downstream components (feeder and panel) cannot be rated lower than 100 amps. If you are asking whether the feeder is required to be 200 amps simply because the panel is rated 200 amps, that answer is no, as kwired has already implied.THanks K..so the feeder would be a 100A feeder?
