100A min for a dwelling

Can anyone tell me when the code went in to effect that required that a dwelling needed to be 100A minimum? A best rough guess / ball park is welcome if you don't know exactly.

The 1959 NEC (which was in use when I was an apprentice) required a minimum 100 amp service for single family dwellings with a computed load of 10kW or more.

It was 60 amp for smaller loads, changed to 100 perhaps 15 years ago

In the late 70s we were installing 200 Amp panels for residences. Code required? Don't know, but Vepco (now Dominion) was promoting it. AC was becoming a standard thing, even if multiple window units.
