My brother lives in waycross, ga, which is around the okefenokee swamp. he called me today and said that high winds blew down power lines this weekend and started a fire which has now consumed 10k acres! his normal 1 hour commute to valdosta has been extended by another 45 min to an hour because they've shut down the main highway. just thought it was an interesting note as to how dangerous electricity really is.

During a hurricane in Florida, a line was blown down in my parents back yard in the pouring rain it burnt a area of about 1 Sq Ft before OCP operated to disconnect power.

We had a 7200V primary go down, that a swan flew into, it was on spitting on the ground for 45 min. till the power company shut it off. Energized just about everything around it including 200' of guard rail
