would 110.26(2) cover the install of a 40 amp disconnect for an air conditioner. I think it does but someone tells me that that?code only pertains to panel boards. thanks in advance.

OK, It is up to the AHJ and many feel yes it does apply so..... you gotta find out from your inspector.
