Hello everyone, I am new to the forum, actually returning after a few months off, but I digress.
I have some questions about 110.26. AS to my understanding our AHJ has approved the installation of an airdryer for an air compressor , that will violate the 3ft rule.
This is a problem for me. I will need access to the 480/277 transformer for maintenance in the future and (God forbid) replacement. I am not sure I can beat this dead horse any longer. I guess I need to find a different tactic to drive this home to the inspector. the project manager will NOT stop work because AHJ has approved it.

Now on to another problem, I need to calculate or guesstimate (joking) the total amperage draw for a 480v buss duct, (no functional CTs) fed by an 800 amp breaker.

I don't understand either question. On the first issue, are you talking about not having 3 foot clearance around a transformer? There are some, and I am among them, who believe that the 110.26 working space rules do not apply to transformers. Or are you talking about clearance around some other component? On the second issue, is this an existing installation, or are you designing a new installation?
