Hey here's a not so impotant question that I have been asking every electrician that I come across for the past 5 years.

If a big 1900 box is called an 11B why is it called 11B which sounds a lot like an 8B box? Wouldn't it be better suited being called a 2100 box? lol

A mixture of two different manufacturer's old part numbers. Some took hold for certain boxes, and another's for other boxes. If I remember rightly, the "real" 8B box is only a 3-1/4" octagon anyhow.

thats what I know it to be I think. 3-1/4 inch octagon.

We used to call 4" sq raised covers 19T for a single toggle, 19D for a duplex, 19TD for a toggle/duplex.
