jemelectric:
See 300.3(C).
...all conductors shall have an insulation rating equal to at least the maximum circuit voltage applied to any conductor within the enclosure, raceway, etc.

Sorry overlooked the "emergency."

What type of emergency system, is it a Article 700, 701 or 702 application?
Art 700 is the only article that has restrictions on "emegency' circuits with non emergency circuits.

Tom, I agree that we need to know the application, and along with the restrictions in 700, 517 also requires seperation if a health care facilty is involved.

Re: 120v & 277v circuits in same conduit.

We still don't have enough information. Is it a
Emergency system per Art 700
Legally required standby system per Art 701
Optionally required standby system per Art 702

Look at the scope in the beginning of each article.
And 120 - 277 circuits can be run in the same raceway, but only Art 700 requires separation between emergency and non emergency circuits.

Not all generators are "emergency" generators, that is why we need to know how it is used.
