Is the use of 277V lighting fixtures in a dwelling occupancy a violation of NEC 210.6 (A) and would it be allowed by any other code section like NEC 410?
The way I read it is that you cannot use 277v for lighting in a dwelling based on 210.6 (A). Article 210.6(C) alows 277v but I take that to mean in non residential if it met the following choices listed.
Seems it would be a poor design to install a 277/480v service for a handful of wall packs, then have a humongous 480-120/208 transformer to run 99.99% of the load.
