125Amp Meter Mains

Hi Guys,

Can you recommend a meter mains product, 125Amp socket with 100Amp breaker, ring type? I looked at offerings by Eaton and Cutler-Hammer, they don't have the above configuration with ring type meter sockets...

I have only seen meter mains that are ringless. Why do you need ring type? Maybe Milbank?

Some utilities will not accept ringless. Less exposure to the meterman removing the meter because the cover stays on. The downside is, with the cover on, internal damage may not be seen until the arc flash has Happened.

For a 125 Amp wattmeter, can I order a 200 Amp meter socket?
Eaton has a 100Amp ring type socket, but I need a higher amperage socket, since my max service Amp is 105 Amp.

I don't believe you, at least initially. They must have that configuration.

Which is billed as 'solar ready' hence the PV in the model number. see spec sheet here

But I think some of the non solar ready also have 125A busbars, it's just you have to dig for the info because less thorough websites won't list the busbar and breaker spec separately.

Good catch..I was thinking that it would be unlikely the meter would ever see 105A based on the current load, but load profile tends to grow over time..
