I looked at job today where customers landscaped lighting was not working. I tested with DMM and got 6 -4v at the light. Tested at source and had 12v. The length of the wire is about 50', I doubt VD is the issue.

I was thinking one of the wires has a "nick", any other thoughts? Any good ways to find the bad spot. I have an Amprobe AT-2005.

So that is 50' to the first light.
Is the transformer solid state or magnetic?

I went back today and found the problem. One of three wires/cables was partially cut. Spliced together and back working again.
