Got a call for tomorrow to install several lights, all are 120 v except one owner has install in kitchen he says is 12v and he needs a transformer installed. I asked him the watts and he doesnt know. Ive installed a lot of low voltage yard lights that use a large trans to pull several lights but i am not familiar with the interior 12v . What kind of transformer do i need to pull the one light? I think its prob 10 -20 watt, is it 12v ac or 12v dc output

For one light applications I like to use a electronic transformer,

This one is made by WAC and is fairly inexpensive...

Make sure the 12v light meets the minimum wattage of the transformer.

Some of these transformers have a minimum wattage, or the light won't light.

stick boy has got your answer right. You can get these at almost any supply house. just make sure you have the right wattage one. just make sure that it is accesibal after you instal it. if it is of a larger size one you wont be able to fit it in a ceiling box.
