I?m in a project where the 13.8kv stand-by generator 150meter away from the served animal hospital building, the client doesn?t like the multiple ATSs on the LV side so he likes to have single 13.8kv ATS before each transformer (which I don?t like), the normal sectional panel as illustrated in attached schematic located in right side connected through the tie breaker which has a shunt trip with main breaker & the shunt trip will disconnect the normal panel during emergency,
First: don?t you think the system is not redundant in case of the failure of transformer/main breaker?
Second: can we rely on shunt trip only without electrical/mechanical interlock?
