Why does it need an on off switch to be listed? Is that in the listing requirements?

Cord and plug connections can be used as disconnects and as motor controllers for motors up to 1/3 hp, so why not for this application.

Ever used the iron for cutting the notches in icf it plugs in and is just one.

Neither does my wife's curling iron, but I installed a hot tub timer in the bathroom after she forgot to unplug it a few times and melted some things.
