Hi all,

I'm working on adding a few outlets on the side of my house and backyard and had a quick question. I ran a 12awg wire home run from a 20amp breaker on my sub panel to a 20amp GFCI. I connected the load terminals to a 15amp outlet and plan to continue on to a few more 15amp outlets from there. Do you see any issues with this? I wasn't sure if the outlets would have to be rated for 20amp.

Thanks in advance!

License may not be needed if working on his own home - permits however may be needed.
True but we are not allowed to help diyers. I know in California that some general contractors are allowed to do some electrical work--OP is a GC

Don't drop the wire size to the rest of the circuit containing the 15 amp receptacle outlets. Stay with the #12.
