Whats the estimated time to terminate a single okinite 750 mcm copper cable

using a Raychem kit 15kv

Depends on how many of them you have done before, where it is located, etc..

I'd allow 1- 1/2 hours each plus any travel and incidental time ( getting in the plant gate etc.)

I would think "very experienced" would know how long one term would take, but agree with masterinbama on the time.

I agree with that, but maybe he is bidding the work and another "very experienced" person who he doesn't trust to be honest is actually doing the work. that being said, I can do one termination in about a half hour.

the half hour is just to make the stress cones. Add another hour and a half for set up/clean up and actually terminating.

I estimate with 1 1/2 hours of labor as well, the Raychem kits are heat shrink rather than cold shrink I believe.

The fastest 2 guys in my shop are doing 12 terms in a 10 hour day 2 man team heatshrink t-bodys Note they also skip a few steps from the mfgs instructions which I refuse to do.

Keep in mind that when you are heating the birdsegg speckled shrink with the red goop in it that it is VERY HOT and will cause hospital type burns when moving the torch under it as it drips we sent one person to the ER in the training session with the Ray Chem rep there. Do not take these lightly.
