15KV to AL

Have a lot of 1/c #4/0 15kv cable CU that they want us to VE to AL. How would I approach this to account for the correct AL size cable? Thanks.

At first you have to state a few details:
-current [normal, short-circuit]
-cable route [for instance: underground, conduit, duct, RHO, ambient temperature]
-how many cables per conduit or duct or tray or else.

you want the same cable type, insul, etc
in Al with an ampacity equal to Cu 4/0 unless the Cu is oversized, then base on load i

it may impact conduit size
you could also look at C, L and R for equivilence
