1600A pwr bu derated

Hi.
I have to feed a 1600A service through undergroungd feeders from utility secondary side.

Considering / applying temparture derating what size / type conductors ??????

(4) # 500 MCM , THWN PER PHASE OR,
(4)#600 MCM , THWN, PER PHASE ?????

That's about 1/3 of the information needed to give you an accurate answer.
What is the load ? Are you feeding one single overcurrent device or several ?
Is the load linear or non-linear ? Are the conductors in conduit ? If so, how many conductors per conduit ?

Making a huge assumption that you are feeding a 1600 amp overcurrent device, the majority of the load is linear and you have no more than 3 current carrying conductors per conduit, the 600 kcmil would be adequate.
