1984 aluminum/copper pigtails

I am a realtor and currently selling a condo. The condo had it's outlets pigtailed in 1984, and I'm trying to establish what was standard procedure was for this at the time? I know currently they need to be pigtailed with the purple connectors. Can anyone steer me in the direction of electrical outlet code for 1984?

I'm trying to establish that it was upgraded to code at time, and the process has since changed. Located in Denver, Colorado.

The recptacle requirements in the 84 NEC will not address pigtailing of Al conductors. You'll neef to look at mfg instructions or the UL White Book. Also go to the newsletter section on the mike holt code forum and search for Al wire.

In my area of N.Y. it was by AMP (manufacturer) compression butt splice.
