No there is not a State Test. I beleive there are 3 different licenses. A,B,C.
(A) supervising Electrician. Good for any kind of electrical work. (B)residential/Commercial under 250 volts. (C) residential only under 250 volts.
I have just started the prosess. I'm ready to work hard and get focused.

Re: 1996 NEC Help

There are only local licenses in Illinois. You need to check with the building officials in the areas that you are planning to work. You many require multiple licenses/registrations as many cities do not accept other city's license/registration even though they are required to by state law.
