That should have been discussed on the phone and saved you a trip out for free.

Agreed! Whenever I get a call where the owner is saying something I installed is not working I always inform them that "if the item that's bad is covered by the warranty it will be no charge, otherwise my normal service call rate of $$$ applies." And if I can get them to be specific about exactly what is going on, I tell them the likelihood that it's the covered item. The last thing I want to do is ask for money on something the owner thinks is covered and possibly not get paid for my time.

Sorry for major delay. Yes, basically a can light I installed really long ago the bulb finally went bad. I give lifetime warrantee on all "workmanship". As I tried to get my service call fee and got a blank stare then argumentative how the lifetime is on install and not a light bulb I finally gave up and said it's on me for now have a happy holiday and moved on. I think people hear the word lifetime and nothing else after it maybe. No major loss of time just couldn't believe she thought I gave lifetime warranty on light bulbs.
"Here is a copy of the warranty language that is on all our bills in case you can't locate your bill from before."
