Recently I've been asked to change a two-family house into a single family unit. Each unit has a 60 amp panel, and is fed from a two-meter box. Can I simply remove the two-meter box, install a single meter and upgrade the mast to 150 amps, I am looking at 230-40 Exceptions, will I need a disconnect outside next to the meter before I feed the two panels?
Does anyone have any ideas or a code reference?

If the existing panels are not next to each other, 230.70 and .72 will require disconnects at the meter.

Re: (2) 60 amp panels

Suggest installing a 200 amp combo panel/meter socket. Then feed each one of the existing 60 Amp panels from the new panel.
