J joed222 New member Sep 24, 2008 #1 has an inspector tell me that when i have 2 ground rods that they can't be MORE than 6 feet apart!....i was under the impression that the farther the better...mine were a little over 8 feet apart, is he right?

don_resqcapt19 Moderator Staff member Location Illinois Occupation retired electrician Sep 24, 2008 #2 They can't be less than 6' apart. The most effective spacing is twice the length of the rods.
