I have an air washer with 2 50 hp motors. We need to install inverters for speed control so I`d like to feed directly from the MCC panel diconnects out to the hoffman enclosure with both drives inside.I have installed separate ocp inside for each inverter as well as bypass contactors ect. now the enclosure is right beside MCC. Engeneer says no can`t have one enclosure feed from 2 separate disconnects.Well I need some more info I thought if it were labeled as such ok he says 90.8b Well I can`t seem to find what I need to back my thoughts.Any speedy responces greatly appreciated.I`m looking as well.

Re: 2 inverters in one enclosure????

You are installing a motor feeder the rules are in Art 430 part V
90.8 B does not apply, I never seen that rule cited before.
Is this a listed and labeled assembly?

Re: 2 inverters in one enclosure????

No all the enclosures are correctly sized for both inverters and the starters and such. The question is can I feed the enclosure from 2 different disconnects as stated. Other words it won`t have a single disconnect for the inverters but each will have a disconnect right beside enclosure. I thought that as long as it was labeled "this cabinet has more than one power source" it would be ok but don`t know where to find any proof.

Re: 2 inverters in one enclosure????

its ok to have more than one source in a cabinet.
see each must have a disconnect per 430.102, two sources must be labeled per 430.74
