Is there a 2 man rule while working on live electricity?
Mom says never swim without a buddy.

I avoid it whenever possible. And none of my crew will work on live switch gear.(well trained by me:smile:).

I'm getting in line with 70E but selling the guy that pays the bills that this is where our industry is going is falling on deaf ears.

Is it because he has these on?

Yes, if you're going, take someone with you.
John, you are not required to be touching a 2nd person. Personally I would like to see at least 2 people on any job. I realize it is not always practical, but in terms of safety, IMO it is a good idea.

A person can be injured in a fall, have a heart attack, or any number of things where a 2nd person could be the difference between life and death.

I agree Larry.

When I worked facilities we always had two electricians changing bulbs, the boss hated it until we convinced him that if you only go up and down the ladder once the odds of you being hurt go down. Take the bulb out and hand it to your helper and he hands one back up, no climbing down one handed with a very breakable item in your hand.

Though one time a VP did ask how many electricians does it take to change a light bulb? I said I don't know how many? Turns out he wasn't telling a joke.

Point out how much time it will save looking for an injured guy:smile:
