I have a client who has two homes on one property with a single meter that is double-tapped .

Both panels are within 5’ of the shared meter . One panel resides directly behind the meter inside the garage , while the other panel is surface mounted to the left of the meter on the exterior wall . Most everything uses NG (stoves, ovens, water heaters, pool, and furnaces), therefore the electrical demand is very low .

I propose (one) Cummins 20KW air-cooled generator and (two) 200A SE ATS switches (with one being the slave) .

Has anyone installed this type of setup ?
Not sure how to post pics !

Welcome to the forum.

Your thread title says two meters, your question states one. Two 200a ATSs are probably cheaper than one 400a ATS.

Yes, it's a common install. You're basically inserting the two ATSs in line with your feeds. What part is throwing you?

The ATS manufacturer should be able to tell you how to connect two ATSs to one generator, if it's not in the instructions.

Yep sorry I meant 2 panels, 1 meter, 2 ATS’
I’ve yet to do this type of install myself and wanted to see if anyone has made this sort of application. And yes the ATS’ have instruction for such a setup. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this with type of setup that could give me some pointers or issues doing this.

Except for the control wiring, you're simply installing two ATSs that share the same two sources.

Your meter is already set up for two loads; you just need to split the generator output similarly.

I have.
Except mine were much closer.
I used this relay onan part# 307-2817-01 12volt relay.
It's costs around $15- $25.00.
You could probably cross reference it and get on at an auto parts store.
