2-phase line filter?

I've got a phase angle fired SCR heater. It turns on and off not at zero-crossing but when needed because what's being heated is light weight and needs tight control. The switching transients are an annoyance and I want to throw on a line filter, but I can only find single phase (assumed line & neutral with neutral bonded to ground, or 3-phase, which leaves me an open terminal that may of may not become an issue. I could deliver one of the phases to two of the line connections on it.

It's set up to run off 240V line-line if plugged into a home type service, or off two of the three legs of a 208V wye if plugged in to an industrial service.

It takes about 40A and I'd like to get a 50A unit to cover the other stuff on the system.

I'd rather use a listed one than try to build my own. Has anyone seen such a device on the market?

On a related matter, I'm hunting for a 50A outlet & plug. I need two live and one ground. Apparently it's not a popular size (except for home welders). I haven't been able to find a 6-50P/R or L6-50P/R. What's the popular plug & outlet for a 240V welder these days?

You do not want a 2-phase device, you only have a 1-phase device.
It sounds like you want a 240V 2W+G device.

I find it much easier to include volts, phases, and wires with the assumption that ground is always required unless noted when describing systems like:

120V 1PH 2W
120/240V 1PH 3W
240V 1PH 2W
208V 1PH 2W
120/208V 1PH 3W
208Y/120 3PH 4W

I'm horrible with terminology and often wonder how I survived the Army and its arcane vocabulary for parts.

Translation accepted - can you recommend a device for it?
