I am bidding a boat lift job and have a question about 2 pole GFI breakers.
The boat lift has 2 120/240 volt motors which I want to connect at 240 volts. I know the circuit needs to have GFI protection. What I don't know is if I tap off one leg for a receptacle or a light on the dock will the GFI trip when it is used at the same time as the 240 volt lift. My concern is that the load will not be equal on the two phases and I don't know if that is an issue with the breaker.
