In the motel lobby Reno I'm working on I found that they have 2 PTAC units on a 45 amp breaker.
The MOCP for each is 30 amps. I think the MCA was around the mid-20's. The wire size appears to be 8 or 6 (probably 8) in EMT conduit.
There's a j-box somewhere (probably in the attic) where the conduit/conductors wye down to each receptacle box.
When the heat is turn up hi with both running I measure about ~43 amps.
The hotel was last renovated in the 80's and has probably been that way since.
Found that interesting.
I would say the major violation would be exceeding the MOCP issue. Maybe also exceeding the 50% rule from 210.23A2?
Anything else I'm missing?
