I have a building that currently has a 1600 amp 3ph service and its maxed out. I have received approval to add a 2nd 1600 amp 3ph service to the same building. Its a z purlin construction, butler building we call them.
My question is that since the services are on opposite sides of a large building. The utility company is installing a new transformer outside, so do I have to,
1) run all the way across to tie to the existing grounding electrode unbroken,
2) tie to the closest building steel then pick up close to existing service and then connect at 1st gear
3) just tie to the closest existing steel and make sure its connected at the existing service
4) install new electrodes at the new service.
