Does anyone know what cover plate is called where you connect you flex to on a 2 x 4? Lumax Lighting went out of business and I am missing a few on an OSHPD job so I cant just make anything work.

Those cover the wiring compartment of the troffer?

We always have your problem when customer supplies the fixtures and we see that they were removed from another building. Of course whoever removed them just takes the screw out of the cover and cuts the leads. The cover stays with the whip.

I know, We are actually installing new fixtures but the cover and wago come in a bag, which fell on the floor and got swept up by the laborers. Now I'm short 3 and the company is out of business. Usually I will knock out a 4s blank, but not on OSHPD.

What is OSHPD?

And why not use a single gang blank cover, instead of the 4S cover?

we didn't buy them. provided by owner.
Doesn't that make it his responsibility instead of yours?
Yes, but it never in reality lets you off the hook.
If an inspector comes and calls it out, it is the electrician who holds the bag.
If you turn to the HO and make statement that a part is missing or not available it is still the electricians fault, and response from HO will be "that is why I hired a professional".

I dont think you can call them laborers anymore.
The p.c. term is potential master electrician- except you can't say master electrician either.
So.. Its just "dude who nailed up the can and didnt see a need for the little baggy".

There was a time that you could do a job like that and have extra covers left over.
I remember when they weren't a part of the fixtures. Just remove the k.o. you wanted to use.

Not Home Owner. They are easy. State HCAI Compliance Officer and Director of facilities for reginal hospital. If we (the apprentice putting the lights in the T-Bar) dropped the cover, and kid sweeping the jobsite chucked them out it is on me as the foreman to replace them. I will try some Lithonia covers. These seem wider and shorter.

But if they were there and his laborers lost them its back on him......
Yep. If making your own plate isn't going to pass then tell owner to find correct plate or a new luminaire that is complete, or you can offer to provide a new luminaire at whatever you will charge for it but possibly won't be same thing as what is there.
