Instructor at a pool seminar stated that a pool light has to be on a 200 milli amp GFI. Have never heard of this .Am I missing something?

Where to get one and what the "instructor's" credentials are.

If that is really what he said.
Credentials are good. Everything else he said seems to make sense. He does pool seminars all over the country.
Supply house has never heard of a 200 milli amp GFCI for personal protection.

The instructor is in error. I believe he is thinking only Ground Fault Protection of Equipment is required. The relevant section uses the term ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI). This term is defined in Article 100 Definitions and requires a Class A device.

I believe the std. is approx a 5 mil trip for personal protection. I've used GFI breakers for commercial de-icing cable (Siemens I believe) that were set for a 30 mil trip. However, I haven't seen any that trip at 200 mils. It would be interesting if the instructor could site a Code section and maybe provide a product cut sheet.
