Hi I have a 2000 amp breaker at my facility it is being fed with 5 runs of 600 kcmil per phase
it is 480 volts. onthe load side of the breaker it has 6 spaces (lugs) per phase, i am only utilizing
5 as i said. Working under the tap rule could i land 1 more 600 kcmil on the breaker and run it
10 feet or less to a 400 amp fused dissconnect. When this new disconnect would be in use the
larger loads inside would not be.

Technically, yes, as Ron said.

Physically, it could be challenging to-get-her done with 10ft or less of cable. Better confirm your layout.

BTW: the fact that it is 2000A, load is not run concurrently or it is a 400A fused switch is inconsequential. At 2000A of current the protection will trip the breaker.

The 25 ft tap rule would require the "tap" conductors to have an amapcity of 1/3 the breaker rating
