I have a question on 2002 NEC 240.21(5).

Assume an 800Amp SER disconnect on the outside of a building fed underground with (2) 4#600KCMIL Cu from the utility transformer.

On the load side of the 800AMP disconnect I have (2) 4#4/0 and 1#2 EG Cu feeding two 400AMP MCB tenant panelboards approx. 200? away. The conduit is underground and the ?tap? is via lugs on the load side of the 800AMP SER disconnect.

Does 240.21(5) permit this?

Outside "tap"

Outside "tap"

If all the conditions stated in 240.21 (5) are met, I would vote "yes"

Two sets of 600 CU supplying 800 amps and two sets of 4/0 CU each supplying 400 amps?

IMO it sounds like it could work and fall under 240.21(A)(5).

If you are not also running 2 sets of conduits for each feeder you will be coming up short due to derating

Are saying two sets of 4/0 per 400 panel?

Are all the paralleled runs in one raceway or seperate raceways
are the line SE conductors (600kCMIL in one or two raceways
Is this a test Question??

No Charlie, not a test question. Yes all parallel runs are in seperate conduit.
