is an/f switch required at the primary side of transformer . when the fused switch is out of sight.

im seeing drawing showing that from a few engineering firms.

its a good idea but by code as far as i have read it is not required.

Not required. Under the 2011 you'll need signage at the transformer stating where the disco located.

thank you. yes i know about the 2011 code changes

don't know why engineers are putting it. hey it more work added to the job.

450.14 Disconnecting Means
Transformers, other than Class 2 or Class 3 transformers,
shall have a disconnecting means located either in sight of
the transformer or in a remote location. Where located in a
remote location, the disconnecting means shall be lockable,
and the location shall be field marked on the transformer.

I just install breaker lock kits.
