Have all 50 states adopted the 2008 NEC.

Not the Commonwealth of Virginia. We adopted the 2005 NEC in May 2008 so we usually lag by about 3 years.

No. Califoria is always 1 code cycle behind, 2005 CEC

Indiana is still on the 2005 but is on the cusp of adopting the 2008 within the next three months or so. I don't think we will have the TR receptacles or the AFCIs yet, maybe in the 2011 Edition. :smile:

as far as I can remember NH has adopted the code the following July 1 of the year of the cycle. (does that make sence?)

In Illinois, towns and counties adopt the NEC. It's not a statewide thing.

Yes, the code is published the year before it is normally adopted. The 2008 code was being distributed and sold in 2007 but most jurisdictions will adopt in the following year so it is named the 2008 edition to coincide with the normal adoption process. :smile:
