new poster. have looked here before for info. though.
came across new one today for me. usually when have two panels they are 200a, so just do ats switch to each panel
.
in this case have two 100a panels. each with a 100a main breaker. each has 15' length of wire from the meter to each panel. the se cables to each are going to be replaced with 4 wire and separate grounds and neutrals. a home warranty contrtactor is supposed to replace the meter and se cable coming down wall to meter.
so present codes will now apply. at 15', are the main breakers in panels protection for the se cable to each if both are supplied from the single 200a meter and ats? or would I need to add a second disconnect outside with two 100a breakers, or run 200a cable to both boces?
I'm also considering moving the meter to above the boxes, which would take the length to boxes under 8'. all the service entrance is getting reworked anyway. and moving the stuff oustde would shorten both the main coming to meter and the two lines to the panels. thanks.
