Hi I currently have 2 meters from 1 overhead drop on my house. 1 meter goes straight into a 150 amp main panel for the house. The other meter has a 100 amp breaker next to it that goes 100 foot in PVC conduit to a detached garage sub panel without a main breaker.

I added another detached garage behind it so I plan on removing the current garage meter can and install a 200a meter main combo with a 200a main breaker with 8 spaces for the 100a existing garage sup panel then use the feed thru lugs for a new 200a main panel in the new garage that’s 140 feet away.

I plan on using 3- 3/0 wires in 2 1/2” pvc. My question has to do with the grounding. Should I use 4ga solid bare from the meter main combo to 2 grounding rods spaced 6’ apart. And then tie my house meter ground to one of those rods?

Should I run 6 gauge stranded through the PVC to the new 200a panel and then I have to run a 4 ga bare from that ground bar to a rod by the new garage or do I need 2 rods spaced 6’ apart back there also? Should I run a ground from the ground bar to a steel column for good luck? The panel is mounted to strut bar I welded to a column.

Then the neutral and ground only connect in the meter/main combo. Separate neutral and ground bars in the new 200a panel in the garage.

thanks
