More than once I have been turned away from being able to obtain all the information that I need for arc-flash calculations because the breaker data is not viewable fom behind the enclosure steel. Gotta be a better way to obtain the data than having to remove panel covers....

When you figure it out...
have them do something about as-built drawings too, ok? ;)

I am thinking that it should be corrected at a higher level like UL or NEC.

Why in the world does anyone need to open equipment up to simply find information.

The other one that has caused me grief is padmopunt transformers, where the nameplate is located in the wiring compartment.

grrrrrrrrrrr, there outta be a law.....

You cant do the study without the info so how can you be turned away? Use the 70E tables for the proper PPE to open the doors to obtain data.

That's exactly my point. If the Code-makers required the data be accessable WITHOUT having to unbolt covers, then we may all be a little safer.

hmmmm
I wonder how many folks have gotten injured whenthey where opening energized equipment just to obtain data needed for an arc flash study.....
