Just a note to all Iowa electricians: The IEEB has adopted the 2011 NEC, effective 1/1/2012. Only one amendment has been made: The language of 210.8 has been deleted and replaced with the 2005 210.8 language (specifically, this affects garages and basements).
The adoption covers the entire state, whether the work is performed where the IEEB will inspect the work, or any local jurisdiction that still maintains it's own inspections.
Local jurisdictions will be able to make amendments on their own, but they must:
1. Result in a requirement stricter than the 2011 NEC,
2. Be approved & adopted by the Jurisdiction, and
3. These amendments filed with the IEEB.
