208-230v Motors on 240?

Does anyone know definitively if single phase 208-230v motors will safely run on 240v, and vice-versa?

The manufacturer of the motor and or testing/listing lab. Un-definitevely I say it will work fine!

Does anyone know definitively if single phase 208-230v motors will safely run on 240v, and vice-versa?

Motors are rated at a utilization voltage of 230V, for use on a nominal voltage system of 240V. I have never seen a general purpose motor rated for 240V.

This 24 year old table saw has one, and the shop foreman says its the best one he has which is why he wants to keep it.
